Dr. Attiya S. Khan has been mending hearts for the last 32 years. Dr. Khan graduated from Fatima Jinnah Medical College for Women in Pakistan. She graduated at the top of her class and was awarded 6 gold medals, including one for the best medical graduate. She did her residency in New Rochelle Medical Center, affiliated with NYU and fellowship at Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. She was the first female Cardiology fellow at The Texas Heart Institute, and was appointed Chief Cardiology fellow.
Dr. Khan is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular diseases and Interventional Cardiology. She recently passed the recertification Board exam in interventional cardiology in 2012.
After becoming a Board Certified Cardiologist, she started practice in Northwest Houston. She has been providing state-of-the-art medical care in North West Houston since 1982. Dr. Khan was named best doctor in 2007 by “Houston Top Doctors”.
Dr. Khan is dedicated to providing the highest quality of patient care and uses the latest technology and state-of-the-art medical equipment. She offers a vast range of cardiovascular ultrasound, as well as nuclear cardiology testing in her office. Dr. Khan has vast experience in coronary and peripheral angioplasty, stents, intravascular ultrasound, atherectomy, inferior vena cava filters and pacemakers.
At Northwest Cardiology Consultants, Dr. Khan with her team focuses on the prevention of heart disease, early diagnosis and provides the latest interventional techniques to treat coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. Northwest Cardiology Consultants specializes in acute care and provides full up-to-date services in the field of invasive and noninvasive cardiology. As one of the few female interventional cardiologists in Houston available to perform emergency angioplasties and stents for patients who are experiencing a heart attack, Dr. Khan is completely committed to her patients day and night.
With special interest in women and heart disease, Dr. Khan recognizes that women often present with atypical symptoms that are frequently underdiagnosed and takes every patient’s concerns very seriously.
